positive self-talk, 100 day project, cartoon drawings
Day 13 of 100 days of positive self-talk with cartoons and comments

I feel deep gratitude today. As I reflect on where I have been and where I am going in the days, months and years I feel excited to be turning 55. and I think this 100 days of focusing on positive self-talk is making a big difference.

I didn’t feel that way at 50, it felt more stressful and I like I was entering a new era. I am half way through this marvelous decade and have never been more excited about my life.

The courage and conviction to go for it

I have the courage and conviction to go for what I want and the confidence to ask for it. That had not always been true. Confidence has eluded me in certain areas of my life, especially my art and my relationship to my physical body.

I am ready to conquer new territory this year and rise above the limiting beliefs and stories that have held me back.

When I sat and thought deeply about what turning 55 means to me and what I want to create in the next decade I realized that time feels shorter and there is more urgency.

Questions for reflection

  • If I want to retire in 10 years, what needs to happen?
  • How much more money do I need to save?
  • How do I want to feel?
  • What legacy do I want to leave?
  • What am I looking forward to?
  • What am I willing to release?
  • What am I willing to change or do differently to make all this happen?

These are a few of the questions on my mind right now.

I don’t have all the answers yet but I’m excited to sit with these questions, perhaps all year.

Two noticeable changes I am feeling already are my commitment to this 100 days of drawing and positive self-talk. I’m not bored, I’m inspired.

The root of the word inspire is to breathe spirit into. This journey is breathing spirit into my relationship with myself. I feel better, I’m more present to gratitude and I’m practicing receiving.

In the past few weeks, unrelated to my birthday, I was gifted a massage, a lovely hand-knitted shrug and a big stack of blank canvases.

My daughter made me a cake and gave me a mani pedi. Acts of service are my love language for sure.

today is my birthday, positive self-talk, birthday flowers

My sweet hubby went for a lovely long low-tide Beach walk with me and listened to me ramble on about my business ideas, took us to dinner and bought me a gorgeous dragon calendar among other thing. I love dragons!

I got this awesome journal from my friend Jenny and the gorgeous flowers from my in-laws.

Womankind, positive self-talk, my birthday

And the outpouring of love and good wishes on social media reminded me of the abundance of friends, fans and supporters surrounding me. So much positive self-talk flowing from within and all around me is definitely lifting my spirits.

I have so much to be grateful for and so much to look forward to in 2020.

What are you feeling grateful for today?
