It Takes Courage to be a Woman Entrepreneur, Part 2

A few days ago, I shared a Facebook conversation I started about why it takes courage to be a woman entrepreneur. Today, I want to add to the conversation and share some specific tips on how to start making more money in your business and move from fear to clarity and success. If you missed part one, you can read it here.

In my coaching calls recently, the topic seems to always come back to a feeling of overwhelm and the need for time management. First let me say, we are the source of our own craziness and feelings of overwhelm. We are struggling with being mom, business owner, wife, daughter – all rolls that we adore but that are demanding! The only thing we can control is our time and our decisions.

Calm and clarity come from knowing exactly who you are and what you want to create. Stop chasing the dream everyone else says you should want and start focusing on YOUR DREAM!

It’s is absolutely possible to build a profitable business in 30 hours a week or less when you focus on the right actions to take every day. I am all about working smarter, not harder.

Step one:  get really clear about exactly how much money you want to make and why. Don’t grasp at intangible, meaningless numbers. Pick a number that is a stretch for you but doesn’t send you into fear of “holy shit, how can I do that?”

Step two: build a realistic business and marketing plan that will help you attain that number in the hours you have available.

Step three: Just do it! Pick 2 or 3 tasks every day that are going to get you to your financial goals and do them first! Most women entrepreneurs (including me) tend to leave the marketing and money-making until the end of the day and too often it just gets pushed off until the next day. Only you can turn your business around.

You had the courage to start your business, now have the courage to turn it into the vision of success that want. Go, start now!

And if you find you are struggling, feeling stuck and don’t know what the right next action to take is, let’s talk. Schedule a free 30-minute “Discover Your Magic Money Making Formula” Breakthrough Session with me right now. I normally charge $247 for these sessions but I want you to have a chance to live the life you have always dreamed of and I know I can help.

The biggest challenge of being a woman entrepreneur is trying to do it all alone. My business really took off was when I was willing and committed to getting the help I needed. I want to share what I have learned and help you to get there faster.

Love this! Such practical advice. As I am still working full time while building my business on the side, I often find myself in a state of overwhelm. Look forward to trying some of your tips and tricks. 🙂

Thanks, Mary! I am a practical and a spiritual girl. I believe we can be both quite comfortably if we have the right structures in place. Good luck with your business and let me know if you would like any help. I offer free 30 minute marketing consultations to women entrepreneurs 🙂

Minette, you are correct in that most women try to do it all alone…we are Super-Women. There is a fine line in doing it yourself and making enough money to justify hiring help. I’m listening! 🙂

Hi Deanna – I think our problem is that we believe we have to be Super Woman all by ourselves but even she had a support team!! It is such a fine line and can be scary to make the financial leap. The truth is, we can’t grow and expand our businesses without help at some point. I am learning this lesson, too!!

This guidance has helped me to focus on what I need to do to move ahead, and just do it! It takes courage and I’m glad to be on this path, thanks Minette.

Minette, great tips! When women take off their superwoman capes and allow themselves to RECEIVE the abundance of resources, support and guidance that is available to them from those who have done it…. That’s when they’ll find/attract business success. (Take it from someone who took the hard path and used to wear her superwoman cape with pride. Today, it hangs in the back of my closet covered with dust and my life and businesses are thriving!). Thanks for sharing such great tips!

Thanks, Linda! Investing in my business has been my biggest investment and opportunity for personal growth as well! I would love to say that my cape is collecting dust but it’s still hanging where I can see it, just in case 🙂

Great tips Minette! I love your reminder: “You had the courage to start your business, now have the courage to turn it into the vision of success that want. Go, start now!”
Magic happens when we reach out for support and are open to receiving it;)
    joyful blessings,
    Tina
