Are you a right brain entrepreneur?

It’s a Saturday afternoon and I would rather be spending it in my craft room. Instead, I have spent the past couple of hours doing research for my business plan. I am currently working my way through Jennifer Lee’s fun and fabulous book, The Right-Brain Business Plan. Business planning is not fun for me and I could put it off forever but I understand the value of having a plan and I love plans that are creative and visual, no spreadsheets please.

I also have clear goals for my business – without a plan, I will stumble off my path and move away from my purpose in pursuit of bright shiny objects like a magpie. Trust me, I did that in my last business and refuse to build my my current business the same way! Plans are guideposts that help us to course correct and stay on track.

As I was doing research on marketing for creative entrepreneurs, I stumbled across this fun infographic about left-brain versus right-brain marketers. Which one are you? And what does it mean?

If you are a creative, right brain entrepreneur, you need to take an approach to marketing yourself that is a match for you and not what everyone else in the industry is doing or says you should be doing. There are laundry lists of marketing tactics, all of which work a little bit. But knowing which ones will work for you and which ones will be fun for you are the key to success. So check out this infographic and see which one attracts you more.

If you are a right brain entrepreneur and creative spirit, I can help you to craft the perfect marketing plan to help you meet your lifestyle and financial goals and I promise to make it fun, meaningful and profitable. Curious to learn more, shoot me an email and let’s connect. But for now, enjoy this awesome infographic from Marketo.com.

When I take to take assessments on things like this, I find that I’m either strongly one or the other, or in many cases pretty balanced. I think I lean to the right here, but I’d say I had a good deal of left to balance. Nice supporting graphics!

I am simply speechless. WOW I am SO right brained that all I had to read was the first line of the infographic … ’emotional’. LOL The funny thing is, my husband is definitely left brained. I guess we compliment each other. I’m definitely going to get this book as it looks as if it was written just for me! So glad I stopped by. And glad you stopped by! 🙂

I am more right than left but have no entrepreneur tendency at all!

I’ve found most (whether left-brained or right) respond better to right-brained marketing messages (which causes me pause on the story presented by this infographic). There’s so much out there that supports people buy for emotional reasons and support these with logic it makes no sense to me that marketing strategies focused on the analytical will be effective with the majority. Although I will say, I’m not so sure you can do a business plan (nor tracking) with a totally right-brained approach (numbers do come into play here, but imagine, if anyone can make this work, you will, Minette ;-)). I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
